In my professional journey, completing any project and having a more than satisfied client always gives you a sense of pride. Yesterday, we released a case study on Behance and our website about how we worked hand in hand with Invisibly on their solutions and marketing materials. Let’s dive in!

In the aftermath of recent world events and societal changes, most people agree that the Internet needs addressing. There is no denying that the technological advancements and innovations of Big Tech companies have their price and benefits. The price that users are paying is unlimited access to their personal data. And often, users don’t understand what and how their data is being used. That’s where Invisibly comes in place. Invisibly wants you to control your personal data because it’s yours.

Invisibly allows users to control their data and benefit from it

How we started working with them

Our relationship with Invisibly began when they approached us to redesign their banners. After completing the project and exceeding their expectations, we thought, “Hey, why don’t we do UX research for them and try to become their design partners?” So, that’s what we did, and that’s how we got the job. At first, they gave us a couple of tasks here and there. Then in two months, we became a dedicated design team within Invisibly and took over all design responsibilities.

Scope of work

You can’t predict unfortunate situations when you start working on a project. That’s why it’s super important to create a scope of work to avoid missing the deadlines:

  • UX research — this was the crucial part of the project to proceed with everything else. With no research done, working on the designs would be a nightmare
  • UX/UI design — Designing for two different audiences with varying expectations
  • Design system — Every aspect of the design should be without clutter, consistent and definite
  • Marketing design — From the landing page to illustrations to presentation templates
  • Website improvements — The website needed improvements that are aligned with their business goals

The problem

Invisibly develops solutions for both B2B and B2C. Both audiences require an easy-to-use and convenient solution, as they have different behavioral patterns. They also needed marketing campaign materials.

  • For B2C, they needed to explain to users how they will control their data and also how they could benefit from it
  • For B2B, they need an easy solution to study target groups and analyze the massive amounts of data and create personalized campaigns
  • For marketing collaterals, they need images for Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, banners
Some B2C designs

Challenges

After they redesigned their website, we needed to implement the new style into both their solutions and marketing. The B2B solution needed to be easy to set up, identify a client’s customers, and identify real-time data. The B2C solution needed to be user-friendly and without clutter.

Invisibly is a startup, and they work fast, so we needed to adapt and embrace their pace as time was of the essence. For example, we did some product design iterations within five days — insane in the design realm. At some point, we ran out of space because of backlogs in Figma, which is a funny thing to say.

Them being in the US and us in Ukraine was somewhat a minor challenge — because of the time difference. The good thing though is that they work remotely, and so did we, so it was also a benefit because we understood each other better.

Want to know what a dedicated design team is? Read our blog post about it.

Working process

The work process was streamlined because we set up daily sync-ups with Invisibly to let them know what’s been accomplished so far, plan what each team member will work on in the next 24 hours, and identify any obstacles down the road.

Then we used agile for faster project delivery with almost no hiccups. We also used Kanban for real-time communication between the teams and full work transparency.

Results

Check the case study on Behance and our website— it will tell you more than I would. In general, we did countless revisions of the UI design (and are still working on it) and the same amount of marketing collateral.

It’s just a small portion of marketing materials we created

Final word

Our relationship with Invisibly is just as important to us as the software solution. As well as being technically sound, they understand the importance of data privacy and its usage, which means we speak the same language. What was already a great solution has grown in functionality. We like to challenge our systems and are always looking for ways to improve them. “Proactive” is an overused word, but it does describe us perfectly.

P.S. Also, if you like what we do, consider checking out another case study by our team, it’s awesome as well!
